Private Pilot license

Course Description

It is imperative for a Pilot aspirant to clear the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) examination before commencing flying training. Once a candidate registers with us he gets unlimited counseling sessions as we help him get his Computer Number and further guide him/her choose the right flight school to complete the flying training requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Minimum 17 years of age
  2. Class II medical certificate
  3. Candidate should have completed 10th board exam (or equivalent) from a recognized board Examination

After applying for PPL, candidates must clear two examinations by DGCADirectorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) (PPL Composite, PPL Technical). Flying Requirements Candidate should have at least 40 hours of flying time (as pilot) under his/her belt as per DGCA syllabus. Flying training can be obtained from a reputed and recognized flying school.

Commercial Pilot Licence

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Minimum 18 years of age
  2. Class I medical certificate
  3. Candidate should have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) from a recognized board

Examination

Students Flying in India :- After applying for CPL, candidates must clear four examinations by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) (Air Navigation, Aircraft Technical, Aviation Meteorology and Air Regulations) and one by Wireless Planning and Coordination(WPC) (RTR).


Students Flying Outside India :- After applying for CPL, candidates must clear three examinations by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) (Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology and Air Regulations) and one by Wireless Planning and Coordination(WPC) (RTR), if not flying in a common wealth country.

Flying Requirements

Candidate should have at least 200 hours of flying time (as pilot) under his/her belt as per Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) syllabus. DGCA syllabus is different for students opting for CPL with IR+ME (Preferred in today's date). Flying training can be obtained from a reputed and recognized flying school in India or abroad. DGCA CPL Conversion

Process

Convertion of a foreign CPL to Indian CPL is basically simplified to three different phases. There are alternate ways in which covertion can be done, however the below mentioned is the most preferred method.

Phase-I BEFORE GOING ABROAD

  1. Obtain your CLASS II and CLASS I The Wireless Planning and Coordination(WPC) medicals
  2. Obtain your computer number
  3. Clear The Wireless Planning and Coordination(WPC) papers (Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology and Air Regulations)
    Note : It is preferred to clear DGCA papers prior to going abroad. Papers can be cleared after coming back as well. However, you'd be only having a time frame of 6 months after coming back to avoid extra recency flying.
  4. Clear RTR
    Note : Clearing RTR from India is not mandatory when flying from a 'Common Wealth' country. RTR obtained from a common wealth country can be directly converted.


Phase-II ABROAD

  1. Obtain CLASS I medical of the particular county you're flying in
  2. Obtain CPL of the particular country that you're flying in as per the regulations pertaining there.
    Note : Almost all recognised flying schools abroad has the provision of training a trainee for CPL as per DGCA requirements.
  3. Maintain your log book and obtain the necessary supporting documents as per DGCA guidelines.
  4. Verification letter of that particular contracting state.
    Note : Make sure that you have obtained all the supporting documents and signatues.

Phase-III AFTER COMING BACK TO INDIA

• Flying Skill Tests
Before flying in India, the trainee has to ensure that he has the following licenses (Usually processed by the flying schools in India)

  1. SPL (Student Pilot License) - Issued based on the The Wireless Planning and Coordination(WPC) papers cleared by the trainee
  2. FRTOL (Flight Radio Telephone Operator's License) - Issued based on RTR

After meeting the mentioned prequsites, trainee has to give the following skill tests in India

  1. GFT Day
  2. GFT Night
  3. 250 nm cross-country test by day
  4. 120 nm cross-country test by night
  5. IR Test (If IR endorsed)

• Signal/Morse code test ( could be done either in India or Abroad)

• Licence Submission

• Sign up on eGCA portal after reading the guidelines.

• Fill in your details, followed by uploading required documents and submitting the license charges.
